Nepal Bangladesh Friendship Expedition 2010
The ten members of the joint expedition team of Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and Bangla Mountaineering & Trekking Club (BMTC) left for Chekigo Peak on the 4th of October (6257 meters in the Gauri Shanker Himal area) and successfully ascended on the 18th of October 2010. Mt Chekigo is known to be one of the technically difficult peaks amongst the NMA peaks.
The basic objective of the joint expedition is to promote Nepal Tourism Year 2011 and to encourage Bangladeshi mountaineers and trekkers to visit our wonderful country.

UIAA General Assembly 2011
General Assembly of Union of International Alpine Association (UIAA) was recently held in Bormio, Italy from 5-10 Oct 2010. Under my leadership, General Secretary Mr. Deebas Bikram Shah, Immediate Past President Mr. Ang Tshering Sherpa and government official Mr. Laxman Bhattarai, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation participated in the General Assembly. The meeting discussed on safety, environment and other mountain related issues.
At the discussions UIAA also approved to hold the next UIAA General Assembly in Nepal from the 5th to 10th of October coinciding with the Nepal Tourism Year 2011.
Representatives from 76 country members of UIAA and from different alpine clubs all over the world we anticipate around 350 representatives to participate for the General Assembly, which will definitely help to promote Nepal Tourism Year 2011.
UAAA General Assembly 2010
General Assembly of Union of Asian Alpine Association (UAAA) is going to be held in Beijing, China from 5- 8 November 2010. I am leading the team on behalf of NMA and we have planned to hold the next General Assembly of UAAA of 2011 in Nepal at the same period. UAAA general assembly is scheduled to discuss on the reports of committees of expedition, youth and environment.
