Thakur Prasad Dharel has been elected as the president of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) Bagmati Province Committee. The 3rd Annual General Meeting and the first election of the committee, held today, elected Mr. Dharel as its new president unopposed.
Mr. Dharel previously served as treasurer before being elected president. Mr. Milan Kumar Tamang and Ms. Phudoma Sherpa continue as vice president and secretary, respectively, while Mr. Kuldas Tamang has been elected as treasurer. Additionally, Mr. Dil Krishna Gurung, Mr. Dawa Singi Hyolmo, Mr. Subba Lama, Mr. Lopsang Sherpa, Mr. Ganesh Nepali, Mr. Bhim Bahadur Tamang, Mr. Sunil Tamang, Mr. Ratna Bahadur Tamang, Mr. Gyan Bahadur Tamang, Mr. Nir Bahadur Tamang, Mr. Pradip Tamang, Mr. Adid Kumar Gurung, and Mr. Jay Bir Tamang have also been elected as members of the committee.
Before the election, the acting president of the NMA, Mr. Thakur Raj Pandey; the vice president of the Nepal Tourism Board, Mr. Ram Prasad Sapkota; the secretary of the NMA, Mr. Dhan Bahadur Gurung; and former vice president of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal, Mr. Tej Bahadur Gurung, jointly inaugurated the AGM.
