Discussion on Impact of COVID-19 on Tourism

An interaction program on the impact of the Corona (COVID-19) virus on Nepal's tourism sector and the strategy to be adopted in the coming days for the revival of the tourism sector with  Honorable Minister for Culture,  Tourism, & Civil Aviation, Mr . Yogesh Bhattrai was organized by Tourism Umbrella Organization on 4 September 2020. The program was hosted online on ZOOM where several members of different Tourism Agencies were present. The program was moderated by General Secretary of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Mr Kul Bahadur Gurung.

  5. House rent, electricity and internet discount issues during pandemic
  6. Mountain Cleaning Campaign - 2020 and repair and rebuild Infrastructures
  7. Mt. Cho-Oyu expedition route explore from Nepal side
  8. Tourism Workers Financial Relief Package
  9. Unclimbed Trekking Peaks
  10. Tourist vehicle issues
  11. Tourist bus terminal and act issues
  12. NTB board members represent from tourism Association
  13. Create a tourism Welfare fund from Royalty (10% every fiscal year)
  14. Exports issues
  15. NEFFA (Nepal Freight Forwarders Association) - representation in the airport management, airlines cargo Management (domestic and International)
  16. Restaurants and Bars must open using proper protocols
  17. Most the Hotel and restaurant not getting loan from bank due to lease issues.

Honorable Minister Mr. Yogesh Bhattarai addressed all the issues positively and further he added that the government is committed to work towards the agendas presented by Tourism Umbrella Organizations.
