Inauguration of Photo Exhibition of Ms. Wanda Rutkiewicz

The photos of famous Polish climber Ms. Wanda Rutkiewicz has been placed in an exhibition at IMM (International Mountain Museum) Premises at Rato Pairo Pokhara.
A photo exhibition is organized on her 30th death anniversary. Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Mr. Dhan Raj Acharya and Ambassador of Poland to New Delhi His Excellency Adam Burakowski had jointly inaugurated the exhibition.
Wanda Rutkiewicz is the 1st European Polish Lady to Conquer Mt. Everest. She had also successfully climbed Mount Annapurna. Rutkiewicz has been declared as an outstanding Polish woman by the Polish government.
Chief guest of the event, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Dhanraj Acharya said that Rutkiewicz is a representative character of the world's bravest woman who has strongly demonstrated the courage from all over the world in mountaineering. He said Rutkiewicz’s contribution to the Himalayan region was unparalleled.
His Excellency Burakowski said it was a privilege for him and the People of Poland to be present in the lap of Mount Annapurna in memory of Rutkiewicz. He said that Rutkiewicz has established Poland's deep relationship with Nepal by successfully climbing the world's highest mountain Mt. Everest.
Honorary Consul General of The Republic of Poland to Nepal Lokmanya Golchha, President of Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) Mr. Nima Nuru Sherpa along with Senior Vice President Mr. Thakur Raj Pandey, Secretary Mr. Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Central Secretariat Member Ms. Doma Sherpa and Central Executive Board Member Mr. Kishan Gurung were present in the program. Likewise, many other dignitaries and tourism entrepreneurs from Pokhara were present in the inauguration ceremony.
Photos of Ms. Wanda will be displayed for a year in a temporary exhibition hall at IMM. Kindly feel free to visit the museum and explore the mountain histories.
