Supports Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Control and Treatment Relief Fund

Nepal Mountaineering Association handed over a cheque of Five Lakhs Rupees to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Control and Treatment Relief Fund established by the Government of Nepal today.

The cheque was handed over during a ceremony today to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister’s Secretary Mr. Mahendra Prasad Guragain by the President of Nepal Mountaineering Association Mr. Santa Bir Lama for the prevention and control of the pandemic. Appreciating the support, Secretary Mr. Guragain said that the fund will be focused on the prevention, control and treatment of the coronavirus epidemic.

On the occasion, the President of the Association Mr. Lama expressed that the fund was handed for Prevention, control and treatment as well as for the support to the population affected in this crucial time especially the affluent and low income in the tourism sector. He further expressed that the families would get support for the daily necessities and consumables. The Association has also been assisting in the past in the face of such disasters as social responsibility. President Lama further added that the pandemic has affected many sectors of the country and one of the hardly hit sectors is the mountainous tourism sector of Nepal.

Present in the ceremony with President of Nepal Mountaineering Association Santa Bir Lama were General Secretary Kul Bahadur Gurung, Secretary Tikaram Gurung, Treasurer Sudarshan Neupane and Secretariat Member Mr. Shiva Bahadur Sapkota.
