On the Occasion of 17th International Mountain Day, NMA organized an online discussion session on Zoom with women mountaineers on ‘Role, Opportunities, and Challenges of Women mountaineers in ’ on 10th Dec 2020. The program was comomerated by the Second Vice President of Nepal Mountaineering Association and also  an Everest Summitter Mrs. Maya Sherpa. The Chief Guest of the Program was Minister for water supply and sanitation Honorable Bina Magar. Everest Summitters Misss. Bhumira Gurung, Miss Furdiki Sherpa,Miss Luckme Syangden, Miss Dawa Sherpa, Miss Chhoki Sherpa, Miss Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Akita, Miss Kalpana Maharjan and Mt. Lobuje Climber Miss Lakpa Sherpa shared their experience during the ascend an also expressed various challenges and possibilities for the women mountaineers. They gave suggestions for the development and improvement to uplift the status of the women mountaineers in Nepal.
